Arlington Construction Accidents Sends One to Hospital

A construction accident injured one worker and shut down Lynn Street on Friday morning.

Arlington Now News is reporting that an accident at the Central Place construction site in Rosslyn shut down North Lynn Street earlier this morning.

The accident happened at about 6:45 a.m. on Friday. Lynn Street was closed at the intersection of Wilson Boulevard due to the response by emergency first responders.

A police spokeswoman from the Arlington County Police indicated that a construction worker was attempting to unload some material from a crane when the material fell on top of him. Other construction workers who were there at the scene of the accident succeeded in freeing the man from the rubble.

A construction crane was used to bring the injured worker down from the fifth level of the building that was under construction, according to a spokesman from the fire department that responded to the scene of the accident.

The worker who was injured in the accident was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
