At Least 10 Injured in SW Austin Accident

At least 10 people were injured in a five-vehicle crash along MoPac Boulevard (Loop 1) in Southwest Austin on Sunday.

Five Sustain Life -Threatening Injuries in MoPac Collision

The Austin American-Statesman reports that six of the 10 people injured in the MoPac collision were transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge, five of whom sustained potentially life-threatening injuries.

The mutli-car crash occurred shortly before 8:45 pm Sunday on southbound MoPac Boulevard at Slaughter Lane.

Upon arriving to the scene, responders had to extract three people who were trapped in their vehicles and immediately transported four trauma alert patients to the hospital.

No other details concerning the accident have been released. The eastbound lanes of West Slaughter and the southbound lanes of the South MoPac service road were block as officials investigated the crash.
