Destiny Baker2 years ago

Dozens were injured Tuesday morning after a double-decker passenger bus flipped onto its side on Interstate 65 in Indianapolis.

Bus Attempted to Avoid Earlier Crash

A release by the Associated Press indicates that the driver of the bus may have been attempting to avoid a crash that had occurred roughly 10 minutes earlier when he lost control of the double-decker bus causing it to overturn.

The bus was carrying between 50 and 60 people when the crash occurred – some reports state that at least 26 people sustained injuries in the crash. Greenwood Fire Department Battalion Chief Chris Harrell informed reporters that one person was transported to the hospital in critical condition and four others had sustained moderate injuries.

The crash occurred around 4:30 am. Wet roadways from overnight storms are believed to have played a role in the accident. Authorities are continuing with investigations into the accident.
