Mr. Tate N. Saunders is an attorney at Thomas J. Henry representing clients injured in auto accidents, company vehicle accidents, trucking accidents, premises liability accidents, and workplace accidents.

Mr. Saunders has dedicated himself to getting the best possible results for his clients all around the great State of Texas for more than twenty-five years. He attended St. Mary’s University School of Law where he was awarded the Most Outstanding Staff Writer Award & Scholarship during his tenure as both a writer and editor for the St. Mary’s Law Journal. Following law school, he was selected to serve as former San Antonio District Attorney, Bill White’s, Briefing Attorney for his last two years as a Supreme Court Judge on the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, and worked as a prosecutor and Division Chief with the Hays County District Attorney’s Office in San Marcos for almost seven years.

In 2002, Mr. Saunders was recruited out of the District Attorney’s Office to work for a prominent Houston Personal Injury & Mass Tort Firm, but ultimately settled into private practice for close to fifteen years to help raise and homeschool his six children. He decided to join Thomas J. Henry in 2019 to put his trial expertise back to full-time use at the highest level.

Mr. Saunders is a member of The Fellowship at Plum Creek Church in Kyle and has helped numerous less financially fortunate people with their criminal, family law, and civil litigation situations on a pro bono and reduced fee basis over the course of his career. He has also taught high school Public Speaking & Debate at Hill Country Christian School in San Marcos, worked as a USA Swimming Age Group Coach in New Braunfels, and taught Legal Research & Writing at the law school level. Mr. Saunders enjoys trying to get back into good shape at the gym, hiking, camping, kayaking, cooking, and salt-water fishing.
