Alma Garcia-Torrez

Attorney at Thomas J. Henry Law’s Dallas Office

Ms. Alma Garcia-Torrez holds a Juris Doctorate degree from UNT Dallas College of Law, and both Bachelor and Master Degrees in Social Work, from the University of Texas at Arlington. Ms. Garcia-Torrez attended law school part-time in the evenings, while working as a Social Worker.  She is the first in her family to obtain a postgraduate degree. Her passion for helping others is what led her to choose to go to law school as a second career path.  During her time at law school, Ms. Garcia-Torrez served as a student attorney at the Joyce Ann Brown Innocence Clinic.  At the clinic, she assisted incarcerated individuals who sought social justice and exoneration for crimes for which they were wrongfully accused.

In the court system, she interacted daily with families in crisis, judges, and attorneys.  Prior to working for Dallas County, she worked helping families of children with special healthcare needs at Texas Health and Human Services.

Ms. Garcia-Torrez is admitted to practice law in Texas state court and in the United States District Court, Northern District of Texas. Since joining the firm, Ms. Garcia-Torrez has focused her practice on the representation of clients injured in car accidents, trucking accidents, premises liability accidents, and workplace accidents. Ms. Garcia-Torrez’s compassion and advocacy skills are the driving force behind her passion to ensure that her clients are fairly compensated for their loss and receive the justice they deserve.

Ms. Garcia-Torrez is fluent in Spanish. She was born in the Country of Mexico and was raised in Dallas, Texas. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband of 30 years.
