Benjamin Paul Dunn

Attorney at Thomas J. Henry Law's Austin Office

Mr. Benjamin Paul Dunn received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. Mary’s University School of Law and also holds a Bachelor of Arts from University of North Texas. During law school, Mr. Dunn clerked with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in San Antonio where he conducted legal research and wrote recommendations.

Mr. Dunn became an attorney out of a desire to help those in need and has first-hand experience dealing with the aftermath of an unexpected accident. In 2015, Mr. Dunn was hit by an uninsured drunk driver. His injuries left him unable to work and as a result, Mr. Dunn was terminated from his job and lost his health insurance. He was left unable to get all the treatment he needed and was only able to recover a portion of his lost wages from the drunk driver.

Mr. Dunn successfully pursued his own EEOC complaint against his employer under a Missouri letter law notice. This was achieved prior to Mr. Dunn entering law school.

According to Mr. Dunn every injury victim faces a “dragon” that is impeding their lives and creating challenges which they may not be fully equipped to resolve on their own. Mr. Dunn wishes to help them slay that dragon so they can regain control of their lives and happiness. He currently represents clients involved in car accidents, company vehicle accident, truck accidents, premises liability, and workplace accidents.

Mr. Dunn is also active in his community and worked alongside another Thomas J. Henry Law attorney, Molly Buchanan, to organize the San Antonio Gender Affirmation Project. The project is a partnership between the University of Texas’ Mithoff Pro Bono Program, pro bono attorney volunteers, law students, and Pride Center San Antonio which has helped 71 people obtain name and gender marker changes. Mr. Dunn has remained active with the project as “advisor emeritus.”

Beyond his work as an attorney, Mr. Dunn enjoys cycling, kayaking, and collecting koozies. He has also visited all 48 of the contiguous United States, mostly during his previous work as a truck driver.
