James P. Lamey

Mr. James P. Lamey completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin as a National Merit Scholar, majoring in English and Mathematics. He continued his academic journey at the University of Houston Law Center, where he earned his Juris Doctor. While in attendance,  he stood out as the sole recipient of the K. Byron McCoy Excellence in Advocacy Scholarship and was an active participant in the mock trial team.

Mr. Lamey’s areas of legal expertise include commercial vehicles, medical malpractice, workplace injuries, maritime law, motor vehicle accidents, and much more. He has successfully represented clients in anywhere from minor to severe cases, earning recognition for his exceptional work from entities like Super Lawyers Rising Stars, the National Trial Lawyers, the American Academy of Attorneys, and Houstonia Magazine’s Top Lawyers.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mr. Lamey is dedicated to mentoring aspiring attorneys. He actively participates in coaching and judging advocacy competitions and has delivered guest lectures on legal writing and personal injury topics. He also holds certificates from the A.A. White Dispute Resolution Center and is a proud member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.

In his personal life, Mr. Lamey finds joy in spending quality time with his wife, their children and their beloved pets—Maple, Waffle, and Luna. When he’s not at work, he can be found grilling in his backyard, playing bass guitar, or attempting a round of golf.
