Jerry W. Mason

Mr. Jerry W. Mason earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence at University of Houston Law Center and also holds a Masters of Business Administration from University of Houston, Bauer College of Business and a Bachelor of Arts from University of Houston, Honors College.
While earning his MBA, Mr. Mason was part of a small group of students selected to participate in the Cougar Venture Fund. In the program, he and three other graduate students conducted research and extensive due diligence before recommending a venture capital investment by the university in a small startup company. The company his group recommended was the only company to be chosen for actual investment by the university.
Working as an attorney for nearly a decade, Mr. Mason has drafted numerous motions on various matters, researched legal issues, presented and deposed witnesses, propounded and responded to discovery, mediated cases, attended arbitration hearings, and appeared in court for dozens of hearings. He has appeared in state and federal courts throughout Texas as well as Louisiana, Colorado, Nevada, and South Carolina.
Mr. Mason became an attorney to help people overcome some of the biggest challenges they will face and promote a more just society. He has assisted clients in multiple areas of civil law, including debtor/creditor cases, personal injury cases, labor cases, and employment cases
Mr. Mason is a member of the litigation section of the Texas State Bar and has also been a member of the consumer law and employment law sections. He has also judged more than a dozen mock trial and moot court competitions as well as taught LSAT, GMAT, and GRE prep courses for the Princeton Review.
Outside of his work as an attorney, Mr. Mason was formerly a semi-professional actor and comedian who appeared in numerous plays and a few films and commercials. He has been on stage with the Houston Grand Opera, is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and loves trivia.
