Kelynn Carter

Attorney at Thomas J. Henry Law's Austin Office

Mrs. Kelynn Carter was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, and thereafter returned to Cleveland for law school.

She earned her Juris Doctor at Cleveland State University – Cleveland Marshall College of Law. During law school, she was on the Cleveland State Law Review, Student Bar Association, The Dean’s Admissions Committee, and sat on local, regional, and national boards of the National Black Law Students Association. She was also a finalist for the Dean’s Learn Law, Live Justice Award in 2018 upon graduation. She participated in numerous Civil Litigation Clinics where she worked with senior attorneys to represent clients in issues surrounding housing, civil rights, LGBTQ rights, and small business disputes.

Prior to joining Thomas J. Henry in 2021, Mrs. Carter practiced personal injury and worker’s compensation where she regularly presented clients in Administrative Hearings and in various County courts. She also worked as a Judicial Staff Attorney managing a civil docket of approximately 250 cases. She now serves as an attorney with the firm’s Austin law offices.

She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and spends a lot of her time giving back and serving her community. In her free time, Mrs. Carter loves traveling with her husband and son, cooking, trying new restaurants, and shopping.
