Melena L. Sparkman

Ms. Melena L. Sparkman received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Washburn University School of Law and also holds a Bachelor of Arts from Southern Methodist University. She interned with the Denton County District Attorney’s Office in Denton, Texas and the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office in Olathe, Kansas and also served as a Law Library Assistant at her law school.

After law school, Ms. Sparkman worked with the Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Abuse where she conducted legal research, drafted memoranda, and communicated with similar programs at the local, state, and national levels. She also implemented policies for the agency and its projects, negotiated grants, and worked to develop best practice strategies, protocols, and training curricula. Ms. Sparkman also worked with the Boy Scouts of America National Office reviewing governance documents, potential legislation that could impact the organization, and collaborating with other teams and departments to ensure legal conformity with rules and regulations.

Joining Thomas J. Henry Law in 2021, Ms. Sparkmen currently works at the firm’s Corpus Christi office where she represents clients injured in car accidents, company vehicle accidents, truck accidents, and workplace accidents.
