ATV Accident Kills One Pedestrian

A pedestrian was killed in an accident involving an ATV in Somerset County.

Details about the Fatal Pedestrian Accident

The Tribune Review is reporting that a man from Friedens was killed in an accident that happened on Tuesday night in which he was hit by an all-terrain vehicle in the area of Somerset County.

State police have indicated that 21-year-old Ashton Vaughn Danton, from Stoystown, was speeding on an all-terrain vehicle on Lambertsville Road in Stonycreek when he struck 24-year-old Brian James Wright, who was a pedestrian, at about 9:25 p.m.

The ATV came to a rest in the wooded area that is along the side of the road. Wright, the victim, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, according to police. Danton was taken to the Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown via helicopter to be treated for his injuries. As of Wednesday, he was listed in fair condition.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
