An Austin diver was killed during a collision with a utility pole.

Details about the Fatal Austin Accident

The South Austin Patch is reporting that a driver was killed early Wednesday morning on West Cesar Chavez Street near Lamar Boulevard after the driver collided with a utility pole, according to police.

A passenger in the vehicle at the time of the accident was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not believed to have been life-threatening.

Police were called to the scene of the accident shortly after midnight to the 100 block of Cesar Chavez. The street lanes that were closed off during the investigation have since been reopened.

No other details have been released, including the name of the driver who was killed or the condition of the passenger. Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances and events leading up to the accident.
