Austin Pedestrian Killed on Interstate 35

One pedestrian was killed in an accident on an Interstate 35 service road in Austin.

Details about the Fatal Pedestrian Accident

KXAN News is reporting that a male pedestrian was killed after he was hit by a vehicle at around 5:13 a.m., according to the Austin Fire Department.

The accident involved a pedestrian and a Honda Civic, and happened on the 1100 block of the North Interstate 35 service road. The vehicle had hit the pedestrian in the left lane of the service road, which was blocked off after the accident while police worked to clear the scene of the accident.

According to witnesses who were present at the time of the accident, a man was attempting to cross the street when he was hit by the vehicle that was traveling north. The Austin Police Department has confirmed that the victim was in his 50’s.

The police have indicated that the person driving the vehicle at the time of the accident was an elderly woman and will not be facing any charges since she remained at the scene of the accident.
