Avaira Contact Lens Recall Expanded
CooperVision has announced that it is expanding its worldwide contact lens recall to include a limited number of lots of Avaira Sphere contact lenses. Certain lots of Avaira Sphere lenses may contain a silicone oil residue that can cause:
- Hazy vision
- Severe eye pain
- Eye injuries requiring medical treatment
As part of the expanded recall, CooperVision is notifying its customers and requesting that eye care practitioners contact their patients and relay the new information. CooperVision also launched a recall site where consumers can enter the package lot number found on the contact lens carton or blister label to determine if their lenses have been recalled.
