A baby was killed in an accident that happened in Palm Desert.

Details about the Fatal Accident

Fox 40 News is reporting that a baby girl was killed when she was thrown from a Porsche as it fell about 200 feet off the side of a mountain road in the Palm Desert area, according to authorities.

The California Highway Patrol says that the Porsche slammed through a barrier on State Route 74 on Sunday morning and fell down the side of the Santa Rosa Mountains. The body of the infant child was found near the crash site of the vehicle. A woman and a man were in the Porsche at the time of the accident.

The woman was taken to the hospital to be treated for serious injuries to her back, while the injuries sustained by the man were less severe.

According to Officer Stephanie Hamilton, speed was a factor in the accident and it believed that the child may have been sitting in the lap of one of the adults since the Porsche only has two seats.
