Bat Boy Killed During NBC World Series
A bat boy for the Liberal Bee jays was fatally injured during his team’s National Baseball Congress World Series game on Saturday.
Details of the Accident
According to NPR, 9-year-old Kaiser Carlile was hit in the head by a player taking practice swings during Saturday’s game.
Witnesses say Carlile was wearing a helmet when he was struck, but still suffered severe head injuries as a result of the impact.
EMTs responding to a separate call at the stadium rushed to the boy’s attention before transporting the boy to a local hospital where he was listed in critical condition. However, Carlile was pronounced dead later that evening.

Social media releases by the Liberal Bee Jays indicated that Carlile was well loved by the team with team members describing Carlile as the little brother they never had.
