About the Bensalem Accident

According to NBC 10 Philadelphia, the victim, 16-year-old Minete Zeka, was reportedly trying to catch her school bus when she was stuck and killed by a 1984 Ford Bronco. She was a sophomore at Bensalem High School.

The 18-year-old driver of the Branco had a green light at the time of the accident; however, the school bus’ flashing lights and stop sign arm should have alerted him to stop. The driver was not identified by NBC10 and was not facing charges as of Thursday afternoon.

Police are looking into the vehicle to see if there were mechanical malfunctions and have taken a blood sample from the driver. They believe that he may have been texting at the time of the accident.
