One man was killed in a bicycle accident that happened in Kewaunee County.

Details about the Fatal Bicycle Accident

Multiple sources are reporting that a bicyclist was killed in an accident that happened on Tuesday morning in the Ahnapee Township.

According to the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department, the identity of the victim has been confirmed as 49-year-old Andrew J. Nowak of Casco. Nowak was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident due to injuries sustained in the collision.

The driver of a 2004 GMC truck was driving east on Highway 54 when the truck struck Nowak who was also heading east on the highway at the time of the accident.

The Kewaunee County Sheriff’s department has also stated that the difference in speed and the rising sun may have played a role in the accident, not improper lane use by either the truck or the bicycle involved in the accident.
