123 San Antonians Arrested for DWI with a Child in the Vehicle

Records show that more than 120 San Antonians were arrested for driving drunk with a child under 15 in their vehicle in 2017, marking a sharp spike from 2016.

Breakdown of Drunk Driving Arrests in San Antonio

The 123 San Antonians arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a child in the vehicle in 2017 marked a drastic increase from the 90 people arrested in 2016. The charge is a state felony punishable by up to two years in prison.

Arrest records also showed 59 people were charged with drunk driving in December 2017 alone, nine of those arrested were driving with a child under 15.

December ranked third in drunk driving arrests for the year behind April and May, which recorded 65 and 61 arrests respectively.
