15 Injured After 18-Wheeler, Charter Bus Crash in New Jersey


Fifteen people were injured Wednesday morning after a tractor-trailer and a charter bus crashed on the New Jersey Turnpike.

Details of the New Jersey Truck and Bus Accident

According to CBS Philly, the crash occurred in the northbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpke in Bordentown, around 9 am.

Authorities say that roughly 50 people were aboard the bus, which suffered severe front-end damage. At least 15 people were transported to Robert Wood Johnson for treatment.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

  • The number of injury crashes involving buses and large trucks increased by 55 percent between 2009 and 2014.
  • From 2004 to 2014, intercity bus accidents accounted for 13 percent of all fatal bus crashes. School buses accounted for 41 percent and transit buses accounted for 33 percent.
