2-Year-Old Dies from Head Injuries Sustained in Crash

A 2-year-old who sustained head injuries in a crash in Hardin County has died, according to authorities. The family of the toddler has set up a GoFundMe for funeral expenses.

Details of the Crash and the Toddler’s Death

According to KFDM, the child sustained significant head injuries Thursday when the car she was a passenger in was struck head-on by a pickup on FM 770.

Police believe the driver of the pickup, 63-year-old Billy Ray Briscoe, Sr., fell asleep behind the wheel, resulting in his truck drifting across the center line and into oncoming traffic.

Briscoe and the driver of the other vehicle, 24-year-old Cody Norman, were hospitalized with minor injuries.

Troopers said the toddler was properly secured in a car seat when the accident occurred.
