According to KWTX, the collision occurred when a dump truck rear-ended a Navasota Independent School District school bus. The impact from the initial collision caused the first bus to collide with a second school bus from the same school district.
Police say 25 students and five adults were transported to nearby hospitals with various injuries.
The two school buses were part of a three bus fleet transporting elementary school students to a Houston museum. Early reports indicate all the injured students were fifth-graders.
Police are still investigating the accident.
