In Blackstone, Virginia, a crash killed four church choir members who were going to a revival.
According to New York Times, a van of full of church choir members from Shiloh Baptist Church was going to Mount Zion Baptist Church for a revival.
As they were turning into the parking lot, their van was hit by a truck that was hauling a trailer filled with metal. The van was overturned when it was hit and the truck was run off the road and into a guardrail. There were four members killed and seven injured.
Robert Lee Allen, the driver of the truck, had only minor injuries. The four deceased members were identified as James Farley, Wartena Somerville, Delois Williams, and Constance Wynn.
The crash took place on Route 460.
Route 460 goes through Virginia and parts of West Virginia. It certainly is not the most dangerous highway but it can be dangerous nonetheless.
The route has a fatal crash rate of 1.2 with 190 crashes and 208 fatalities. There is an average of 19 crashes per year.
