41-Year-Old Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash

According to WWSB, a 41-year-old man died after being struck by a Ford pickup truck or van on State Road 64 in Manatee County, Florida.

Details of the Fatal Pedestrian Wreck

A driver in a Ford vehicle traveled westbound on State Road 64 around midnight. Near South West Oak Point Drive, the vehicle crashed into Clarence Herbert Johnson walking along the roadway.

Police say Johnson was walking eastbound in the westbound lane of State Road 63 when he was struck, according to WWSB.

The driver of the Ford vehicle fled the scene before police arrived. Emergency crews pronounced Johnson dead at the scene of the crash. WWSB reports that Florida State Troopers are actively seeking out more information regarding the fatal hit-and-run collision.
