57-year-old Man Dies After Being Struck by a Car

According to the Sun Herald, a 57-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the road in Gulfport, Mississippi, on Monday evening.

Details of the Fatal Pedestrian Crash

Police say a man attempted to cross Pass Road near Ford Street at around 8:00 p.m. local time when the collision happened. The 57-year-old pedestrian was hit by a 2008 Chevy Cobalt heading east, according to the Sun Herald.

The victim received treatment at a local hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. The Sun Herald reports that the man has not been identified.

Police did not issue charges to the driver of the car. The Sun Herald reports that the intersection where the pedestrian was struck is poorly lit.
