8-Year-Old Boy Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident

According to KTXS, an 8-year-old boy died from his injuries after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver on December 17.

About the Fatal Accident

Police said the accident occurred at 3:15pm in the 1600 block of 6th Street. The boy was pronounced dead at Brownwood Regional Medical Center at 4:11pm after being transported there.

The driver responsible for the boy’s death was identified, arrested, and eventually charged with intoxication manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid.

Both charges are second-degree felonies and the driver could serve time in prison if convicted on both charges. Police expect to release the names of the driver and victim on Sunday.
