21-year-old, Esteban Aguiler Jimenez, was arrested by California Highway Patrol after being caught driving at dangerously high speeds on Highway 101 in San Jose while under the assumption of being intoxicated.
The suspect’s inability to focus on the road while under the influence caused his Dodge Charger to viciously crash into the rear end of a Nissan Rogue while merging towards Interstate 280. Authorities have reported that two individuals have lost their lives and at least four others were injured in this horrific incident.
California Highway Patrol spokesman, Ross Lee, reported that the passenger in the back of the Nissan died on impact while the driver eventually died about an hour later at Regional Medical Center from sustaining life threatening injuries. Three passengers within Jimenez’s Charger suffered from minor to moderate injuries and were transported to Valley Medical Center for treatment.
