One person was killed and five others were injured during a single-vehicle accident along the Atlantic City Expressway in Hamilton Township, New Jersey on Friday.
About the Fatal New Jersey Accident
According to Reuters, all six occupants, including at least two children, riding in the 1996 Ford pickup were ejected from the vehicle.
The crash occurred around 7 am, when the vehicle apparently lost control and rolled several times before coming to rest in the westbound lanes of the expressway.
Police are still trying to determine whether any of the occupants were riding in the bed of the pickup when the crash occurred. The cause of the accident is still under investigation as well.
Several portions of the expressway were closed following the accident.

- 33,561 people were killed in traffic crashes in 2012 – up 3.3 percent from 32,479 in 2011.
- Additionally, another 2,362,000 people were injured in auto accidents, increasing 6.5 percent from 2,217,000 in 2011.

- New Jersey recorded 589 traffic fatalities in 2012, 164 of which were attributed to alcohol impaired driving.
