2 Accidents in South Texas Leave 1 Dead, 3 Injured

The Valley Morning Star is reporting that there have been a series of deaths related to vehicle accidents in the neighboring South Texas communities of Harlingen and San Benito.

Details about the South Texas Fatal Accidents

The latest major accident that happened in the communities happened in San Benito on Wednesday night when a San Benito man was killed after a vehicle struck him and left him for dead just south of the city.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says that the victim, 36-year-old David Ortiz Rosales, was struck at some point on Wednesday night near South Sam Houston Boulevard and FM 675.

Harlingen had its own accident early in the morning on Wednesday when three people were hospitalized after a head on collision on the highway. According to police it happened on the southbound lanes of the highway between Fair Park Boulevard and Harrison and Tyler streets.

At around 5:17 a.m., the driver of a silver Land Rover was driver was driving northbound on the southbound lanes when he struck a blue Ford Escape.

Both of the passengers in the Ford as well as the driver of the Land were all taken to area hospitals. The male passenger in the Ford was airlifted to a hospital in San Antonio in critical condition. The other two people suffered minor injuries.
