2 Kiiled in Crash on Louisiana I-55
WWLTV reports that a three vehicle crash along Interstate 55 near Ruddock, Louisiana has left two dead and three injured.
About the Fatal Louisiana Crash
Around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, a 2011 Kia crashed into a 2006 Chevrolet on Interstate I-55 in Louisiana, closing down the highway until 9:30 a.m. Both, Brandon Craig, 32, and Conrad Hebert, 31, were killed in the accident – Craig pronounced dead at the scene and Herbert at a local hospital shortly after.
A third vehicle, a 2004 Honda, was driving behind the Chevrolet immediately before the accident. The driver, Newton Matthews, 59, attempted to avoid the crash, but the Honda rolled through vehicle fluids on the highway causing him to lose control of the car and crash the guardrail. Mathews escaped with minor injuries.
Two passengers in the Kia were transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.
Investigators suspect that the driver of the Kia, 32 year old Brandon Craig, was impaired at the time of the accident. Toxicology results are pending. Impairment is not suspected of the other two drivers.
