About the Collision

According to KRIS-TV, McElroy caused the accident when he attempted to pass several vehicles that had stopped for a school bus on West Wheeler, just before 4 pm.

This action resulted in a seven-vehicle crash which left five people, including two small children, hospitalized. One of those children has passed away from his injuries.

Police determined McElroy was intoxicated at the time of the accident and have charged him with intoxication manslaughter.
