Nick Slovikoski3 years ago

Corpus Christi police have arrested a motorist who was involved in a fatal pedestrian accident in Corpus Christi Monday night, but it is still unclear if he will face charges for the victim’s death.

About the Corpus Christi Pedestrian Accident

According to KRIS-TV, 33-year-old Joseph Palmatier has been arrested on a DWI charge in connection with a crash that occurred on Yorktown near Starry Road around 9:30 pm Monday evening.

Palmatier told police he didn’t see the man until it was too late; however, authorities did arrest the driver after determining he was high on marijuana at the time of the incident.

Witnesses say they saw the victim dart in front of other cars, forcing them to swerve, before being struck by Palmatier’s truck.

Police are collecting more information about the pedestrian and the accident before filing charges in connection to the victim’s death.
