Details about the Fatal Motorcycle Accident

The Sarasota Patch is reporting that the Sarasota Police Department is currently investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that happened early on Friday morning along Main Street and Orange Avenue.

The Sarasota police department has stated that a motorcycle was heading east on Main Street at about 1:46 a.m. when the driver failed to maneuver a roundabout at Orange and Main. The driver of the motorcycle hit the roundabout and was ejected from the bike.

The motorcyclist, who has yet to be identified, died as a result of the accident, according to Sarasota police. Police currently believe that speed was a factor in the accident, but are unsure if drugs or alcohol were involved. No other information is available at this time, but an investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
