Grandmother, Granddaughter Killed by Alleged Drunk Driver
A young girl and a grandmother were killed by a suspected DUI driver in Tulare County.
Details about the Fatal DUI Accident
ABC News 30 is reporting that a 10-year-old girl and her grandmother were killed when an alleged drunk driver collided into them just south of Tulare.
The accident happened on Saturday evening near Avenue 200 and Spacer Drive. George and Charlotte Espinosa survived the accident but their daughter and her grandmother were killed.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the family was from Las Vegas and was on their way from Yosemite to Porterville when their SUV was T-boned by another SUV being driven by 25-year-old Cheyenne Wyllie of Exeter.
Police have said that Wyllie drover through a stop sign and hit the SUV before she was arrested for driving under the influence and two counts of manslaughter.
A passerby noticed the accident and was able to intervene and help the survivors escape from the accident before the car was engulfed in flames. The passerby was able to pull the young girl out of the vehicle where she was then taken to the hospital where she later died.
