Houston Officer Involved in Fatal Accident
A police officer was involved in a fatal traffic crash in Houston early Thursday morning on the southeast side.
Information Regarding the Houston Crash
According to the Houston Chronicle, the wreck occurred about 4:20 am in the 8600 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard near Reed, said a spokesman for the Houston Police Department.
The Houston Police Department Officer, R. Scott, was traveling westbound on Reed when he collided with hit a bicyclist.
The officer had a green light at the intersection of the two roadways, and he tried to avoid the bicyclist but hit him.
Unfortunately, the bicyclist died at the scene. His name has not been released yet. It is unclear if Scott was on a call for service at the time of the crash.
