Killeen Teenager Sentenced in Deadly Street-Racing Crash
A 19-year-old girl from Killeen, Texas received two eight-year prison sentences after being convicted of manslaughter and racing on a highway causing serious injury or death.
Details of the Fatal Street Racing Accident
According to KWTX, Alexis Jillian Woods’ Chevrolet Camaro was traveling at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour when it crashed into a Ford Taurus in the 5400 block of Trimmier Road on November 15, 2015. The two passengers of the Taurus, Francine Wimbush, 66, and Michael Keith Locket, 60, died at the scene.
Woods pleaded guilty to charges of manslaughter and racing on a highway causing serious injury or death and was sentenced to eight years for each; however, the judge has ordered that the sentences will be served concurrently.
The driver Woods was racing, Tyrone Floyd Moore, Jr, 20,has pleaded guilty to the same charges but he has not yet been sentenced.
