Details about the Suspected DUI Accident

KSAT 12 News is reporting that a San Antonio man was arrested on Thursday morning under the suspicion of driving while intoxicated after he lost control of his pickup truck and barreled through the backyards of two homes on the south side, according to San Antonio police.

Officers say that the pickup truck crashed through a wooden fence and drove across a grassy yard before going through a chain link fence and second yard. The accident happened at around 2:30 a.m. along South Zarzamora Street near Gillette Boulevard.

The truck also happened to shove a metal garbage dumpster nearly 50 yards from where the dumpster was originally located in a nearby parking lot. At this point, it appears as though the dumpster is was slowed down the vehicle.

At also appears that the pickup truck knocked down a billboard and brought down some utility lines in the area. Crews from the San Antonio Water System and CPS Energy arrived later to look at the damage but did not make any immediate repairs.

The driver of the pickup was arrested at the scene of the accident and charged with DWI, according to police.
