Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Accident in East Texas

Details about the Fatal Texas Accident

The Houston Chronicle is reporting that one person was killed in an overnight traffic accident that happened along Texas 288 North near Beltway 8.

According to police, the accident was reported just after 3 a.m. on Friday morning and involved just one vehicle. At about 8 a.m. the accident was still not cleared after a lengthy investigation into the cause and circumstances of the accident.

All northbound lanes of traffic were closed for a few hours due to the accident that involved a red sports car that appeared to have gone over the guardrail along the freeway before it collided with a large light pole.

The male driver of the vehicle was killed in the accident, and, according to video that was taken from the scene of the accident, the red vehicle did have handicapped license plates.
