Maryland Motorcycle Accident Kills Passenger

According to Annapolis Patch, a motorcycle ricocheted off of another vehicle on Sunday night, killing the motorcycle’s passenger.

Details about the Fatal Motorcycle Crash

Last Sunday night in Crownsville, Maryland, a motorcycle crashed into a Chevrolet. First Responders arrived at the scene at 8:25 p.m. to an auto accident in the area of St. Stephens Church Road and Creek Farms Lane.

According to Anne Arundel County Police, the driver of the motorcycle was headed north on St. Stephens Church Road. The motorcycle crossed double yellow lines, attempting to pass a Chevy Cruze, and, as the motorcycle was trying to pass the Chevy, the Chevy was turning left onto Creeks Farm Lane.

The motorcycle hit the side of the Chevy and ricocheted off of the driver’s side of the vehicle. The motorcycle flew off of the roadway and both the driver and the passenger were ejected from the vehicle.

The driver of the motorcycle is 36-years-old and from Severn. The driver was flown from Crofton Middle School to a Shock Trauma Center due to critical injuries that resulted from the crash. The driver of the Chevy Cruze is 24-years-old from Pasadena. This driver was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.

The passenger on the back of the motorcycle, 29-year-old Kelly Josephine Navin, of Owings Mills, was fatally injured as a result of the crash. First Responders pronounced Navin dead at the scene.

The accident continues to actively be investigated, and charges for the driver of the motorcycle are still pending a review by the State Attorney’s Office.
