One Dead, Four Injured After Driver Runs Red Light

According to the Observer-Dispatch, a woman was killed and four others injured in a car crash in Herkimer, New York, on Wednesday morning.

Details of the Fatal Car Accident

Scott, Karen, and their son Austin Fuller were traveling east on Route 5, approaching the intersection of West German Street when the car crash happened. The Fullers were attempting a left turn onto West German Street when they were hit by a car traveling west that failed to stop at the red light.

Karen Fuller, 48, was the front seat passenger and was taken to St. Elizabeth hospital where she would be pronounced dead. Scott Fuller, 55, was also taken to St. Elizabeth for treatment of minor injuries. According to the Observer-Dispatch, the couple’s son sustained severe head trauma in the crash and is listed in critical condition.

James Schulze, 60, and his passenger, 24-year-old Jessica Groom, were taken to St. Elizabeth for non-life-threatening injuries, reports the Observer-Dispatch. A third vehicle was struck by the Fuller’s in the intersection crash, but the driver did not sustain any injuries.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, reports the Observer-Dispatch.
