One Man Killed in New Braunfels Car Crash

A man was killed on Monday morning in New Braunfels after the van he was driving was rear-ended by another vehicle on Loop 337, according to the San Antonio Express-News.

About the Fatal New Braunfels Crash

Initial reports say the accident occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Monday on Loop 337 near New Braunfels High School. A 2005 Chevrolet 3500 van driven by Justin Reid Bohmann was traveling east on Loop 337 when a 2011 Chevrolet Suburban driven by a 66-year-old man allegedly pulled out of a private drive into oncoming traffic.

Bohmann attempted to avoid the SUV but was rear-ended on the right side of the van. The impact of the crash caused the van to spin before rolling over once. Bohmann, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The van also struck a 2003 Ford Taurus before coming to rest on top of a 2007 Ford Mustang. Both the Taurus and Mustang were parked and unoccupied at the time of the accident.

Police do not suspect alcohol or speed to have been factors.
