Palmetto Woman Killed in Accident on US 41

A woman from Palmetto was killed in an accident that happened on US 41.

Details about the Fatal Accident

The Herald-Tribune is reporting that a woman from Palmetto, who has been identified as 56-year-old Brenda Renee long, was killed in an accident that happened on US 41 in Manatee County on June 16, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A report from the Florida Highway Patrol has stated that 38-year-old Wade Strickland, of Palmetto was driving his Jeep Grand Cherokee heading south on US 41, just north of 35th Street West in the left lane when he turned into the path of 19-year-old Katrina Van Fossen who was heading north on US 41 at the time of the accident.

Van Fossen’s vehicle, a Ford Excursion, was hit by Strickland and knocked off the roadway, into a grass shoulder, and through a yard fence.

Long was a passenger in Strickland’s vehicle who died at the scene of the accident.
