Authorities are searching for the driver in a hit-and-run crash in Houston who killed a 5-year-old and sent a 2-year-old to the hospital.
About the Houston Hit-and-Run
According to Click2Houston News, the vehicle hit the children at approximately 8:30 p.m on Thursday after they walked into the street from Doss Park near Fallbrook and Butte Canyon in northwest Harris County, allegedly to retrieve a ball.
Neighbor Liana Marin spoke to Click 2 Houston reporter Cathy Hernandez. Marin’s surveillance video, which is located in front of her home, captured the terrifying moments when the hit-and-run driver struck 5-year-old Jayden Aguilar and his relative, 2-year-old Jeremiah Aguilar. Jayden Aguilar died at the scene. Jeremiah Aguilar was taken to Texas Children’s Hospital in a serious condition.
Marin added that the surveillance video shows the hit-and-run driver running over the victims without stopping after impact. According to the surveillance footage, it appears that the driver of the dark-colored pickup truck or SUV made an attempt to slow down before the fatal crash.
