Teen Killed in Wheeler County Crash

A teenager was fatally injured Sunday night as a result of a single-vehicle crash in Wheeler County. Two others were injured in the accident.

Details of the Wheeler County Crash

According to the Amarillo Globe-News, the crash occurred around 6:45 pm when Kynna Peers, 15, lost control of a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe on County Road 4. The car left the road and rolled over multiple times before coming to a rest.

Peers was pronounced dead at the scene. Her two passengers, Hannah Shepard, 16, and Heather Bell, 18, were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Preliminary reports indicate all three girls were wearing seat belts.

Authorities do believe speed was a contributing factor in the crash.
