A teenager was killed in an accident that happened in Kalamazoo County.
Details about the Fatal Accident
WZZM News is reporting that the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of a fatal accident that happened in the Comstock Township on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the sheriff’s department, James Brown was driving a gold Chevrolet Malibu heading south on Sprinkle Road and was attempting to turn east onto East Michigan Avenue. Brown failed to yield the right of way to a Chevrolet Canyon that was heading north and was being driven by Nicholas Topp.
As a result of the accident, 18-year-old Cassi Stephens was taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries where she was pronounced dead. Brown was also taken to the hospital where he currently remains in stable condition.
Two of the other people involved in the accident were treated and then released.
An investigation into the accident remains ongoing at this time.
