Texas State Student Responsible for Accident that Killed Four People

A student from Texas State University has been arrested and taken into custody in connection with a fatal accident that killed four people.

KVUE News is reporting that the Texas State University student who was accused of driving the wrong way along Interstate 35 in February and killing four people is in custody, according to the Kyle police Chief Jeff Barnett.

According to authorities, 22-year-old Wilson Molinares was driving a Honda and heading the wrong way down Interstate 35 at mile marker 215 when he crashed into a Ford Windstar in the morning hours of February 19.

There was major damage to the driver’s side of the Ford van, which was crushed in and around the driver of the van. The damage of the van was so severe, the driver had to be cut out of the vehicle by the Kyle Fire Department. The impact of the two vehicles caused both of them to flip.

The accident resulted in the deaths of four people: 30-year-old Gerhard Hiebert Peters, 27-year-old Margaretha Wall Hildenbradt, 31-year-old Heinrich Martens, and 16-month-old Jacob Wall Hiebert.

Two other children who were in the van at the time of the accident were rescued from the vehicle and taken to the Dell Children’s Medical Center. Those two children who the only two people from the van to survive the accident. Molinares was the sole occupant of the Honda at the time of the accident.

Molinares was severely injured in the accident, which is why police have only just now charged him.

At this point in the investigation, police believe that alcohol was a major factor in the accident.

Officials from hays County have said that they are now prepared to handle an injured inmate with a full medical staff.

Molinares is being held on a $1 million bond – $250,000 for each person who was killed in the accident.
