Three college students were killed and one was injured in an accident that happened in Nacogdoches.

Details about the Fatal Accident

The Dallas Morning News is reporting that three college students were killed and another was critically injured in a fiery accident that happened early on Monday in Nacogdoches, according to police.

Police have further stated that the accident happened at about 1:30 a.m., when 20-year-old Chace Scruggs was heading east on Starr Avenue, when his 2007 Dodge Charge left the roadway and collided with several trees. In the process of the collision, the vehicle caught fire and burned.

Someone in another vehicle that was behind the Charge called 911 when they came upon the accident.

Scruggs, of Seabrook, 21 Rajeen Williams of Burleson, and 18 year-old Geena Zarick of Flower mound were all pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. A fourth passenger, 21-year-old Trent Haynes of Red Oak, was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

Police are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
