According to WFAA, two people are dead following a fatal collision involving a vehicle heading the wrong way on Interstate 75 in Dallas.

Car Unrecognizable after Crash

Police say a woman driving north in a southbound lane on Interstate 75 caused the fatal crash. At around 11:45 p.m., Lauren Cordova, 27, collided with another vehicle containing Hussein Zaybek, 23, and Mohommad Zaybek, 20.

Cordova died in the accident, according to WFAA. Hussein Zaybek also died in the wreck. The passenger in his car, his brother, survived the crash but suffered a broken arm and leg. He received treatment at Parkland Hospital and is currently in good condition.

Police say the investigation into the accident is ongoing, and they do not know for certain what caused Cordova to drive the wrong way down Interstate 75. WFAA reports that wrong-way crashes usually occur at night and on the weekends, and nearly 2 out of 3 involve alcohol impairment.
