Two Killed in Head-On Collision in California
The West Side Connect is reporting that a woman from Newman is just one of two people who were killed on Monday morning in a two-vehicle accident that happened between Gustine and Volta, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Details about the Fatal Head-On Collision
Sergeant Jesse Lopez of the Los Banos Area California Highway Patrol has said that the victims have been identified as 54-year-old Louise Kaster, of Newman, and 32-year-old Esteban Arrellano of Los Banos.
Sergeant Lopez further stated that the accident happened at about 7 a.m. on Ingomar Grade Road, which is just south of Hearst Road, when Arrellano, who was driving north in a 1993 Nissan Sentra, crossed over the center line for unknown reasons and collided head-on with Kaster’s 2012 Ford Focus.
According to Lopez, both of the drivers were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Each of the drivers were alone in their vehicles when the accident happened.
The California Highway Patrol has said that the accident remains under investigation.
