Two People Dead Following Wreck in Houston County, GA

At least two people died this morning following an accident in that occured on Highway 247 in Houston County

Details about the This Morning’s Accident on Highway 247

This morning it was reported by 13 WMAZ News that one person had died in a three-vehicle accident on Highway 247 near Highway 96 in Houston County.

In the initial report, lanes were closed in both directions on the interstate between Highway 96 and Sandy Run Road, according to Houston County Sherriff’s Captain Ronnie Harlowe.

At update to the report indicated that, Danny Galpin, the Houston County coroner, confirmed a second driver involved in the three-vehicle accident had died as well.

The driver was originally being transported to the Medical Center Navicent Health in Macon but suffered a cardiac arrest along the way to the hospital, so emergency medical crews tried to take the man to the Houston Medical Center, according to Galpin. The man died while on the way to the Houston Medical Center.

The names of the two victims that died in the accident have not been released by police or the coroner at this time.
